Alchemists create phenomenal affects through mixing special ingredients. Anyone with a sharp mind, an exhaustive memory, and attention to detail can learn the secrets of alchemy. Effective (and safe) alchemy requires tremendous training, however, and few master the art.
Alchemists can create potions, bombs, or special coatings. Potions can range from healing wounds, to enhancing combat prowess, to providing night vision. Bombs can project explosives that pour forth fire, create smoke screens, or daze enemies. Coatings can include poisons or sleep agents. All in all, alchemy is versatile marvel.
What alchemists boast in versatility, however, they lack in staying power. Alchemy requires specific ingredients and ample time to create new substances. In desperate situations, alchemists cannot “whip up” potions on the fly. Moreover, most alchemists don’t carry crates of potions around with them. Thus, the successful alchemist is a master of anticipation and preparation.
